Greetings from IREX and I hope all is well. I’m delighted to announce that we have received a new grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York to again administer the University Administration Support Program for 2018-19. We have just launched the application phase for the next two cohorts of the Fellowship in Research Management. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2018.

I have attached a one-page flyer about the opportunity, including the list of eligible universities. The application itself is found online at www.irex.org/uasp, along with IREX’s Research Management training curriculum.

Could you please share this opportunity widely with any relevant colleagues and contacts who could benefit from the program? I’m sure they will love to hear your experience.UASP alumni are a great source to finding talented new applicants for this program, so my team would be so grateful if you could promote it by email, social media, or even post on relevant pages of your university website if appropriate.

It will again target mid- to senior-level research managers, faculty, and other administrators who play a role in their university’s research management operations. Fellows can apply to participate in a 6-week program in either September 24-November 2, 2018 or January 28-March 8, 2019. There will be opportunities for alumni grants following the program, as in the past.

For your information, acouple changes this year are:

(1) This year our application is an online form. However, if your colleague has technology issues, they can contact uasp@irex.org for a paper form.

(2) This year applicants from the same institution have the option to apply individually OR they may submit joint applications with a partner (this is available for institutions to maximize impact of the program; we would expect each counterpart in the joint application to submit their own application form and explain how their objectives are mutually reinforcing to the other counterpart applicant from their institution).
