The second stage of the “Summer School at SHSU” program continues

Schoolchildren arriving from various communities across the region began the second day of the second stage of the “Summer School at SHSU” program, organized by Shirak State University, in somewhat unusual settings. The university’s Military Department opened its hospitable doors to welcome them.

The female students in particular were pleasantly surprised to see members of their own gender receiving military education.

The speaker of the day was also a female student of the department, who shared the knowledge she had acquired in the military field.

Gagik Hovhannisyan, a lecturer at the Military Department and Lieutenant Colonel, presented the history and path of the department’s creation and talked about the importance and mission of the military profession.

Afterward, accompanied by him, the students visited the armory, where they learned about certain types of weapons and the specifics of their application.

The teenagers also visited the SHSU College, where they were welcomed and greeted by Astghik Baghdasaryan, Deputy Director for Educational and Student Work. She introduced the daily life and majors of the college, encouraging the students to continue their further studies there.

What kind of summer school would it be without active leisure? The final stop of the day for the students was the Marmashen Monastery Complex, where Qajik Harutyunyan, a lecturer at the SHSU Department of Geography and Service, presented the history of the monastery complex to them.
