“Summer School at SHSU” Program, Day Three
The second phase of the “Summer School at SHSU” program, initiated by Shirak State University, is continuing. As part of this program, students from various communities of the province (marz) continue to participate in diverse cognitive, educational, and entertaining events.
The third day of the program’s second phase kicked off at the Faculty of Social Sciences, where the participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Ofelya Hovhannisyan. The heads of the faculty’s academic departments and the lecturers presented the educational programs, their features, and professional development opportunities to the students.
In her welcoming speech, the Dean emphasized the role of knowledge, encouraged the students to study purposefully, and assured them that the doors of Shirak State University—and specifically the Faculty of Social Sciences—are always open for them.
The meeting continued with the participation of Ashot Hakobyan, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Sociology. The speaker addressed the importance of self-knowledge, communication culture, and the formation of healthy interpersonal relationships.
After the educational part of the day, a pleasant surprise awaited the students. A volleyball tournament was organized in the university sports hall at the initiative of the Department of Sports and Arts, which took place in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm, team spirit, and healthy competition.
At the end of the day, the participants watched a documentary film telling the story of the life and sports journey of the famous Armenian weightlifter, World and European Champion Nazik Avdalyan. The film inspired the students to never give up, believe in their own strengths, and steadfastly move toward their goals.
