The newly-founded Faculty of Social Sciences was formed on the reunification of separate Chairs from two different departments – the Department of Pedagogy and the Department of History and Philology, including the Chair of Philosophy.
Former Chair of History (present Chair of History and Philosophy) was separated from the Department of History and Philology, and as for the Chair of Laws Studies and Political Science, it is a younger one.
The Chair of Psychology was separated from the Department of Pedagogy. (The newly-founded Chair of Psychology and Social Work was formed by the unification of two Chairs – the Chair of Psychology and Pedagogy and that of Social Work.) Since 2017, professional programmes in history, law studies, social science, psychology and social work have been realised at the Department. Besides, these programmes involve political science and sociology which are new ones here.
The best traditions of the past are kept and flourished at the Department. They serve the scientific-pedagogical activity of the faculty, the efficiency of individual work with students, the goals ensuring education quality indicators, the best organization of the students’ everyday life. The faculty consists of Doctors (Professors), associate professors, candidates of sciences (PhDs).
The Department lives an active and arduous university life.
