Summer School

Today, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the first and second stages of the of intellectual games and sportslands of the “Summer School at SUSh” program took place at SUSh.

SUSh rector E. Serobyan, before handing out the diplomas, talked to the students, heard their impressions and opinions that they received during the days spent at the university. All the students participating in the summer school mentioned, that they managed to like the university and everything they saw inside the walls of the university. Read more․․․

The professor spoke about the Armenian culture, art and painting of the ancient period, noting that the object of art reflection is the aesthetic phenomena of reality, especially their beautiful aspects.

The next educational meeting was held by the director of the university’s External Cooperation Center H. Melkonyan, with whom the participants were already familiar, but this time the topic of the conversation was not the university’s external relations. In an informal environment H. Melkonyan talked to the participants about communication as an effective means of personal and social change. Read more․․․

On the fourth day of the summer school, the students had a familiarization visit at the Faculty of Social Sciences, where they were met by the acting dean, candidate of natural sciences, associate professor O. Hovhannisyan. She presented the history of the faculty and chairs to the participants, spoke about the importance of training specialists with skills and abilities in accordance with the requirements of the modern labor market in the university system and the professional and material-technical base and opportunities available in the faculty to ensure this. The 3rd day of the summer school began at ShSU Military Chair. The lecturers of the Chair major T.  Tigranyan and lieutenant-colonel G.  Hovhannisyan showed the pupils around the building with, presented the history and annals of the Chair, showed the participants the automatic rifles and hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers in the weapon storage-room. On the second day of the summer school, the participants got acquainted with the Department of Humanities, where the pupils were welcomed by the acting Dean, associate professor A.  Gareginyan.  She told he participants the history of the Department, explained the peculiarities of the specialties, then together they toured the Department, got acquainted with the activities of the Chairs, visited the classrooms named after the theatre expert R. Madoyan and the Francophonie classroom. Read more․․․

Today, the 2nd stage of the Summer School program started at Shirak State University

On the first day of the program, the participants were welcomed and wished a successful course by the Head of the Department of Student Support, university employer cooperation V. Eloyan and the training center for External Cooperation responsible Mesrop Galachyan, after which the students took a tour  at the university, visited the reading room, visited foreign cooperation center, where the director of the center, associate professor H. Melkonyan, presented the activities of the center, got acquainted with the Erasmus program and the opportunities it provides. Read more․․․

At the end of the first stage of the summer school, on the fifth day, the participants got acquainted with “Decorative and applied arts”, Professor V. Khachatryan introduced the students  the peculiarities of the profession: During the meeting, an interesting conversation took place about culture, art and painting. Read more․․․

On the fourth day of the summer school, attendees were introduced to the history and functions of the Military Chair, an institution dedicated to the training of educators specializing in “Preliminary Military Training”. Following this, they undertook a guided tour of the facility, engaged in a session on fire training, and subsequently proceeded to visit the SUSh college. On the third day of the summer school, participants familiarized themselves with the Faculty of Social Sciences. The students of the faculty presented the activities of the departments and the features of the specialties through slides. Read more․․․

On the second day of the summer school, the participants got acquainted with the activities of the Department of Humanities, its Chairs and the specialties offered.The students of the Department  presented the stories of their Chairs through slides, introducing to the pupils the opportunities provided by the University.Within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, the students from the Department of Humanities, who continued their studies at partner universities in Spain and Romania for one semester, told about the features of the educational process in the above-mentioned universities, their impressions and the experience they gained.Read more․․․

Today, Shirak State University welcomed the pupils of the graduating classes from the schools of Shirak Region participating in the first stage of the summer school. The latter will last on June 19-23, and the second stage will begin on June 26 and will again last five days. The Rector of Shirak State University Mr. Ye. Serobyan greeted the participants, wishing them a good march. He hoped that thanks to the summer school, many people will love Shirak State University and return there as students. Read more․․․

The 5th day of Summer School began with getting acquainted with the Faculty of Pedagogy of SUSh.

Head of the Chair of “Pedagogy”, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Lusik Ghukasyan presented the specialties of the Faculty, talked about the features of professional education, active daily life of students.

Hovik Melkonyan, Director of the External Cooperation and PR Center, informed the students of the Summer School about the opportunities to study in foreign universities and the university's international cooperation.

In the second half of the day, students participated in intellectual games. At the end of the "Own game" and "What, where, when" championships organized by Artak Hovhannisyan, Head of the Chair of Law Studies and Political Science, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, the best team and the best expert were determined.

The intellectual struggle was followed by the sports one։ the students measured their strength from different sports during the Sportlandia and decided the best athlete.

At the end of the day, the final event of the "Summer School" program was held․

Yervand Serobyan, the Rector of SUSh, handed over certificates of participation to the students, and awards and gifts to the prize winners. After listening to the opinions and impressions of the students, the Rector considered the first program of the summer school successful and assured that it will continue.

The 2nd group of high school students of Shirak region got the opportunity to get acquainted with the university life and to receive counseling for professional orientation.

The fourth day of the summer school started at ShSU military Chair and then turned into a cognitive excursion.

At ShSU’ military Chair holding a special status, the pupils were shown around professional classrooms, the armoury, and the library.

Lieutenant Colonel Gagik Hovhannisyan, the lecturer of the Chair, presented the history and activities of the Republic’s only military Chair, training teachers in “Preliminary Military Training.” He provided insights into the Chair’s distinctiveness, responding to their diverse questions. The third day at ShSU summer school, involving pupils from Shirak Region graduating classes, was also filled with activities.

Dean Tamara Melikyan greeted students at the Department of Humanities and Arts, introduced to them the Department’s activities, spoke about its Chairs and specialisations, and highlighted the career opportunities aligned with the demands of the labour market. Read more․․․

The 2nd day of the summer school began at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.

More than 3 dozen participating pupils got acquainted with the activities of the faculty and chairs, the list of professions by which admission is carried out, and received answers to their questions. A one-week Summer School has launched at State University of Shirak, which is attended by pupils of the final classes of the pre- registered schools of Shirak region. Parents and teachers of the pupils were also present at the opening of the event.

Welcoming the event being held for the first time at the university, Yervand Serobyan, Rector of SUSh, advised the participants to be active, use the given opportunity and expressed hope that many of them will return to Shirak alma mater as students.  Read more...․
