ShSU Expands the Scope of International Cooperation

A working meeting was held at Shirak State University with representatives of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. During the meeting, the participants discussed new avenues for cooperation, the possibility of establishing a Legal Clinic at ShSU, and the prospects for introducing innovative educational models in legal education.

It was emphasized that the Legal Clinic would serve as an important platform for developing students’ practical skills, applying theoretical knowledge, and gaining experience in addressing legal issues, while at the same time contributing to the enhancement of the quality of legal education.

Particular attention was also given to the presentation of the Online Legal Clinic-Laboratory model. The participants were introduced to its technical solutions, educational opportunities, and expected outcomes.

It was highlighted that the implementation of the Online Legal Clinic-Laboratory would expand and diversify the format and scope of the free legal services provided by ShSU to the public, demonstrating the University’s commitment to social responsibility. It would also improve the accessibility of the program, promote the integration of modern educational technologies, and provide greater opportunities for student participation in practice-based learning.

A joint action plan is expected to be developed in the near future. It will include measures aimed at establishing the Legal Clinic, organizing professional development and training programs, facilitating the exchange of experience, and strengthening international cooperation.

Representing ShSU at the meeting were Rector Yervand Serobyan, Acting Director of the Center for External Cooperation Hasmik Melkonyan, Head of the Chair of History and Law Armen Gasparyan, Head of the Law Study Program Armen Hovhannisyan, and Master’s student Garik Sultanyan.

This cooperation is of significant importance for strengthening the educational and research capacity of Shirak State University, enhancing its international partnerships, and ensuring the competitive professional training of future legal professionals.
