The first phase of the “Summer School at SHSU” program concluded at Shirak State University

The first phase of the now-traditional “Summer School at SHSU” program has successfully concluded at Shirak State University. As part of the program, more than two dozen students from various public schools in Shirak Province participated for a week in a wide variety of educational, informational, cultural, creative, and sports events.

The goal of the program was to assist schoolchildren with their professional orientation.

During the program, Yervand Serobyan, Rector of Shirak State University, received and welcomed the participants. In his welcoming speech, he emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation between the university and schools, highlighting that such initiatives contribute to the professional orientation of teenagers, the shaping of their worldview, and a conscious choice for their future educational path. Furthermore, during a meeting organized in the rector’s office, Y. Serobyan presented the specifics of a university head’s activities, spoke about the priorities of modern higher education, the university’s development programs, and the importance of making the right professional choice. The schoolchildren had the opportunity to ask questions of interest to them and receive comprehensive answers in an open and informal atmosphere.

The educational component of the program included thematic lectures and practical classes.

Informational visits were also organized within the framework of the program. The students visited the Marmashen Monastery Complex in Shirak Province, where they learned about the history, architectural features, and cultural significance of the historical and cultural monument.

As part of the creative events, an open drawing lesson was conducted under the leadership of V. Khachatryan, a lecturer at the Department of Sports and Art, during which participants had the opportunity to discover and develop their creative abilities.

During the program, the schoolchildren also participated in the “What? Where? When?” intellectual game, sports competitions, dancing, and other entertainment events, which contributed to the development of teamwork, communication, and creative thinking.

As part of the Summer School’s closing events, a “Sportlandia” athletic competition was also held. The winning teams were awarded by Y. Serobyan, Rector of Shirak State University.

At the end of the program, participants received certificates of appreciation and awards.

The second phase of the “Summer School at SHSU” program will launch on June 29.
