Shirak State University Launches a Series of Orientation Meetings for First-Year Students
Today, an orientation meeting was held in the Assembly Hall of Shirak State University (ShSU) with the participation of first-year students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech by ShSU Rector Yervand Serobyan. He congratulated the students and encouraged them to be principled, active, and goal-oriented, emphasizing the importance of acquiring professional knowledge, pursuing personal development, and making full use of the opportunities provided by the University.
The students were then addressed by A. Valesyan, Vice-Rector, Director of the Center for the Management of Educational and Methodological Processes. He touched upon issues related to the credit system, as well as the specific features of the assessment procedures in place at the University.
V. Eloyan, Head of the Student Support and University–Employer Cooperation Division, provided a detailed overview of the opportunities for benefiting from state-provided tuition fee compensation and the University’s internal discount system, as well as the procedures for applying for these benefits.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the first-year students were also welcomed by Irina Manukyan, President of the ShSU Student Council. She presented the main areas of the Student Council’s activities, opportunities for student engagement, and the procedure for becoming a member of the Council.
The meeting concluded with an active question-and-answer session.
