The Creative Legacy of Tanya Hovhannisyan

Today a literary-critical analysis of the poetic world of the late poet Tanya Hovhannisyan was held at Shirak State University. The presentation was delivered by Associate Professor Of. Hovhannisyan, PhD in Philology, a lecturer at the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, who highlighted the vivid and meaningful course of the poet’s life.

During her lifetime, Tanya Hovhannisyan published the poetry collections “The Flower of the Volcano” and “Eve’s Tales.”

Through intimate self-reflection, the lyrical voice in her poetry offers a sincere and authentic portrayal of the modern human psyche. With her art, the poet has also become a source of spiritual inspiration for contemporary writers, many of whom have drawn literary influence from her works.

Marked by simplicity of expression and an original poetic structure, her works possess a strong emotional impact. Her poetic dialogue with the reader is direct, philosophically profound and emotionally warm. Each reader can find in her poetry lines that speak personally to them—lines enriched with a sense of future-oriented meaning and depth.

At the end of the presentation, M. Khachatryan, Head of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, also emphasized the importance of the poet’s creative path, underlining Tanya Hovhannisyan’s uniqueness in the literary world.
