“Summer School at ShSU”: Day Four

The second phase of the “Summer School at ShSU” program continues at Shirak State University, offering participants a rich and diverse schedule of activities.

The first session of the fourth day was led by Araksya Margaryan, a lecturer at the Department of Sports and Arts. She introduced the students to the history of Armenian carpet weaving, the distinctive features of carpets from different historical periods, and the symbolic meaning of their traditional ornaments.

The next important event of the day was a meeting with the Rector of Shirak State University, Yervand Serobyan. The Rector welcomed the students to his office, where they engaged in an open and informal discussion lasting more than an hour and a half. During the meeting, a wide range of questions related to science, education, and career guidance were discussed.

Responding to the participants’ questions, the Rector emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, active involvement in academic initiatives, and noted that meetings of this kind also help young people make informed career choices. He once again reaffirmed that Shirak State University is always open to students from all educational institutions across the region and is ready to support their academic, educational, and practical initiatives.

The final session of the fourth day was conducted by Karen Aramyan, a lecturer at the Department of Sports and Arts. He introduced the participants to the fundamentals of Armenian national dance, explained the symbolism and significance of its movements, and engaged the students in performing various traditional Armenian dances.

At the end of the day, the participants of the “Summer School at ShSU” program watched the film “Sparapet”.
