Erasmus+ Information Day at State University of Shirak

On November 24, Shirak State University launched a series of Erasmus+ informative meetings organized by the National Office of the Erasmus+ programme in Armenia.
Representatives of the faculty and administrative staff of Gyumri universities, along with students, participated in the annual meeting. The Rector of Shirak State University, Mr. Yervand Serobyan, and the coordinator of the Erasmus+ national office in Armenia, Mrs. Lana Karlova, welcomed the participants and wished them a productive session. The rector emphasized the university’s participation in both the Erasmus+ capacity-building and the academic mobility programmes, highlighting that this year Shirak State University would have even greater involvement in Erasmus+ activities.
Ahead of the competition for university capacity-building programme grants, Mrs. Lana Karlova presented the opportunities of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme in the higher education sector and discussed the possibilities of the newly launched Erasmus Mundus Action since 2021.
A training session for faculty and administrative staff was conducted by Erasmus+ higher education reform expert Mrs. Arevik Ohanyan, focusing on the topic “University Grants: What You Need to Know.” Participants engaged in team activities to develop practical skills for drafting grant proposals. The expert also emphasized the importance of prioritizing while preparing grant applications and reflecting the university and national education strategy in them.
In parallel, a meeting was held with students and graduates, during which the representatives from the Erasmus+ national office, Mrs. Vard Ghukasyan and Mrs. Edith Sogomonyan, provided information about the application process, deadlines, and conditions for Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus+ scholarships, answering the participants’ questions.
