The Ceremonial Opening of the Festival Dedicated to Pushkin’s 225th Anniversary Took Place in SUSh
On April 22, the official opening of the festival dedicated to Pushkin’s 225th anniversary took place at Shirak State University. The festival will be held on April 22-26, within the framework of the events planned due to the memorandum of cooperation between SUSh and Tver State University. Thanks to the national-cultural society “ARARAT” representing the Armenian community of Tver and its leader Yelena Gevorgyan, born in Gyumri, partnership relations were also established between the cities of Gyumri and Tver.
The event was attended and welcomed by SUSh rector of the Ye. Serobyan, TSU Vice-Rector Ye. Vasileva, deputy mayor of Gyumri L. Sanoyan, head the Russian House in Gyumri A. Beryanev, the teacher of Russian language and literature at Gyumri Secondary School No.6 A. Melkonyan.
In their speech, they emphasized the role of the writers, culture and artists in the establishment and strengthening the friendship between peoples, their activities, wishing that such direct contacts become more frequent and regular in the near future.
The guests also published the congratulatory messages of the mayor of Tver and the Rector of TSU.
During the first day of the festival, K. Sukiasyan, associate professor of SUSh Chair of Foreign Languages and Literature, Candidate of Philology, the Head of the TSU Chair of Russian language, Candidate of Philology I. Gladilina and the associate professor of the same Chair Yu. Ponomariova. At the end of the working day, the president of Tver Theatral Union, actor T. Kuzmin presented remarkable episodes from the history of their staging on Pushkin’s themes.
This part of the meeting took place in the atmosphere of direct communication, question and answer, and professional discussion between the actor and the audience.
On April 23, the festival will continue at Shirak State University.
