“Summer School” at SUSh. Day 1
A one-week Summer School has launched at State University of Shirak, which is attended by pupils of the final classes of the pre- registered schools of Shirak region. Parents and teachers of the pupils were also present at the opening of the event.
Welcoming the event being held for the first time at the university, Yervand Serobyan, Rector of SUSh, advised the participants to be active, use the given opportunity and expressed hope that many of them will return to Shirak alma mater as students.
Nazeli Avetisyan, Director-Vice-Rector of the Educational and Methodological Process Management Center of SUSh, wished the pupils a good course, considering the 5-day summer school as the best opportunity for professional orientation and acquaintance with university life.
The pupils first toured the university, visited the reading room, the “Key to intelligence” club, and the auditoriums.
The program of the first day included the introduction to the possibilities of the Faculty of Mathematics and National Sciences. Levon Martirosyan, the Dean, presented the pupils the professions by which admission to the faculty is made, talked about the possibilities of being included in scientific research works.
The pupils were also present at the chemistry and physics laboratory experiments performed by the lecturers and students of the faculty.
The day was summed up with sports events, the pupils measured their strength in table tennis and badminton tournaments.
