September 1 at Shirak State University
Knowledge and Schooling Day was celebrated in a festive atmosphere in the courtyard of Shirak State University. The audience enjoyed the performances of university students — violinist Anna Kaghzvantsyan, saxophonist Gor Manukyan, together with the Shirak Garrison Military Band and the “Pogar” Dance Ensemble, which created a joyful and elegant mood for everyone present.
On the occasion of the celebration, the Rector of the university, Yervand Serobyan, delivered a welcoming speech, greeting the students and wishing them a productive and successful academic life. He particularly congratulated the first-year students, noting that this year is a jubilee year for the university and that they are the 90th cohort of first-year students. Rector Serobyan also presented souvenirs to the students who were admitted with the highest entrance scores.
A welcoming speech was also given by the President of the Student Council, Nyura Muradyan, congratulating everyone on the beginning of the new academic year.
At the conclusion of the celebration, the deans of the faculties and the Head of the Military Department presented the first-year students with student badges and cards, and subsequently introduced them to the university’s facilities.
During the celebration, students also had the opportunity to take photographs in a specially designated “Chkhkalu” corner.
