Rector of SUSh Yervand Serobyan Held a Meeting with Students
The Rector of State University of Shirak, Yervand Serobyan, held a scheduled regular meeting with the students of the university. The heads of the university’s structural subdivisions and the Head of the Student Council also participated in the meeting.
The goal of the meeting was to hear students’ opinions and suggestions regarding the educational-scientific as well as sports and cultural processes carried out at SUSh.
In his welcoming remarks, Y. Serobyan briefly presented the rich history, mission, and vision of the 90-year-old university. He proudly noted that State University of Shirak plays a significant role in the field of public education in the region, since nearly 90 percent of the teachers in the schools of Shirak Province are graduates of SUSh. The rector suggested that the meeting proceed in an informal atmosphere of direct communication and encouraged the students to present the issues that concern them.
The students first expressed their gratitude to the rector for organizing the meeting, then they presented their questions and observations. These mainly concerned the organization of the educational process, the timing of internships, the discount system, efforts aimed at expanding professional literature, and other related matters.
A direct and warm dialogue developed. Y. Serobyan and the heads of the relevant subdivisions gave detailed answers to the students’ questions and listened to their proposals for finding solutions to the issues that had been raised.
