An international conference entitled “Current Issues of Education and Science” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the University founding, was held at SUSh, with the support of the RA ESCS Higher Education and Science Committee

On October 24-25, 2024, an international conference entitled “ Current Issues of Education and Science” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the University founding, was held at State University of Shirak (SUSh) with the support of the RA ESCS Higher Education and Science Committee.
About 150 specialists applied for participation in the conference, both from SUSh (70 participants) and from a number of RA and foreign universities (80 participants), in particular, from the Russian State Pedagogical University, the Institute of Food Resources of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Kyiv, Dresden Technical University, Yerevan State University and Ijevan branch of the latter, Armenian State Pedagogical University, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, the Armenian State University of Economics and its Gyumri branch, Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, the state universities of Vanadzor, Gavar, Goris, the Public Administration Academy of RA, NAS RA International Scientific-Educational Center, NAS RA Shirak Armenology Research Center, NAS RA Scientific Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, NAS RA Language Institute, European University of Armenia, Movses Khorenatsi University of Yerevan.
Along with the participants’ registration, they were presented with an electronic mosaic with comprehensive information about the 90-year-old university and its activities, which is the “symbol” of the conference.
The activities of the conference were organized in the plenary session and in 8 departments in face-to-face and remote formats:
• Physico-mathematical sciences and their teaching methodologies
• Biological sciences (agriculture) and their teaching methodologies
• Earth sciences and their teaching methodologies
• Economics
• Historical sciences and their teaching methodologies
• Philological sciences and their teaching methodologies
• Pedagogical sciences (including teaching methodologies) and art science
• Psychological sciences.
SUSh Rector Ye. Serobyan and deputy chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, L. Margaryan, made a welcome speech at the plenary session of the conference. K. Petrosyan, Director of Gyumri branch of Armenian State University of Economics, A. Kostandyan, Director of Gyumri branch of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, A. Tsaturyan, Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences also gave welcome speeches. On behalf of V. Kocharyan, Director of the NAS RA Institute of Applied Problems of Physics, the welcome speech was read by Professor H. Drmeyan of the same Institute, and on behalf of S. Gevorgyan, Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, the welcome speech was read by Associate Professor N. Khachatryan of the same University.
Rector Ye. Serobyan handed over souvenirs to the honored guests of the conference.
At the plenary session, Vice-Rector-Director of the Educational and Methodological Process Management Center, Ph.D., Associate Professor N. Avetisyan, Director of the External Cooperation Center, Ph.D., Associate Professor H. Melkonyan, Ph.D., Associate Professor A. Boyajyan gave comprehensive reports about the 90-year-old University.
After the break following the plenary session, which was organized in the “Key to Intelligence” club of the University, the activities of the conference continued in the departments, where the participants presented their reports in face-to-face and remote formats according to the conference program.
After the activities carried out in the departments, the solemn closing of the conference took place in the hall of SUSh, during which the results were summarized by the co-chairs of the departments, who confirmed that the conference passed with intense discussions, exchange of opinions, proposals of solutions for the raised problems.
SUSh Rector Ye. Serobyan handed over certificates and souvenirs to the participants who presented the best reports in the departments, as decided by the co-chairs.
Certificates of participation were provided to the authors of the articles corresponding to the reports presented during the conference, and the articles that will be guaranteed for publication as a result of the review, will be published in the SUSh Scientific proceedings N2 of 2024, included in the list of scientific publications acceptable by the RA Higher Education and Science Committee.
After the solemn closing of the conference, an excursion was organized for the guests, during which the guests got acquainted with the values of historical and cultural significance of Gyumri.
At the end of the conference, an official dinner was organized for the honored guests.
Volunteer-students of SUSh, members of SSS took an active part in organizational issues of the conference.
