Workshop on “Projects in Natural Sciences” and “How to Organize Engaging Lessons in Natural Sciences” at State University of Shirak
On October 9, within the framework of events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shirak State University, the Chair of Biology and Chemistry hosted a workshop on “Projects in Natural Sciences” and “How to Organize Engaging Lessons in Natural Sciences.” The primary objective of the event was to support teachers and students in effectively implementing newly introduced project-based learning methods in general education. Additionally, it aimed to foster collaboration between universities and schools, promote professional orientation, and encourage continual education.The event commenced with welcoming rspeeches and best wishes of productive work from the Dean of the Department of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Levon Martirosyan, and the Head of the Chair of Biology and Chemistry, Samvel Aleksanyan. Associate Professor Nelly Adamyan introduced the requirements, stages and assessment methodologies of project-based learning to the participants.
The teachers and students who carried out projects presented their work. During the discussions, each project was subjected to professional analysis, and some methodological guidance was provided. Additionally, students were shown the laboratories, equipment and facilities of the Chair of Biology and Chemistry. At the end of the workshop, all participants received certificates of participation, while the three best projects were awarded incentive prizes.We express our gratitude to the teachers and students of Gyumri Basic School No. 32, Secondary School No. 23 and Gyumri Economic College for their active participation.
