Summer School at Shirak State University: Day 3

On the third day, participants learned about the history and activities of the Shirak State University Military Department, the only program in the republic that trains teachers in “Preliminary Military Preparation.” Lieutenant Colonel G. Hovhannisyan demonstrated assault rifles and handheld anti-tank grenade launchers in the weapons storage room. In the firearms training classroom, students carried out disassembly and assembly exercises under his guidance.

Later, participants went on an educational excursion to Marmashen Monastery, one of the spiritual and cultural centers of Shirak Province, where they enjoyed active recreation in nature. The history of the monastery was presented by Kajik Harutyunyan, a lecturer at the Department of Geography and Service.
