Students from Vanadzor State University Visit Shirak State University

Within the framework of inter-university cooperation, Shirak State University hosted third-year students specializing in “Service” from Vanadzor State University. As part of the “Excursion Work” course, the students carried out their academic practice in Gyumri, familiarizing themselves with the city’s cultural and architectural heritage.

The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Shirak State University, Levon Martirosyan, welcomed the guests, briefly presented the university’s 90-year history and highlighted Gyumri’s landmarks, architecture and culture. Accompanied by the dean, the students toured the faculty and became acquainted with the working environment of the Department of Geography and Service.

Associate Professor Gagik Tadevosyan from Vanadzor State University presented the nature and characteristics of tourism, while Kajik Harutyunyan, lecturer at Shirak State University’s Department of Geography and Service, introduced the students to the nuances of practical tour guiding.

Afterward, the students went on an educational visit to Marmashen, where they had the opportunity to explore one of the spiritual and cultural centers of the Shirak region—the Marmashen Monastery.

The students expressed their satisfaction with this format of academic practice, noting that it contributes to the exchange of experience, the deepening of professional knowledge and the development of practical skills.
