Scientific seminar on the topic “On the issue of the Center of the Satrapy of Armenia” at SUSh

A scientific seminar on the topic “On the issue of the Center of the Satrapy of Armenia” was held at SUSh. The speaker was H. Khorikyan, Associate Professor at the Department of “History and Law” of SUSh, Doctor of Historical Sciences.

He noted that the study of issues of ancient Armenian history often goes beyond the boundaries of Armenology, encompassing a broader framework of Oriental studies.

The speaker, based on a detailed analysis of source studies and professional literature, showed that the administrative center (capital) of the Satrapy of Armenia was the city of Van, which was probably also one of the residences of the Achaemenid King of Kings.

Students from Artik High School № 3 also participated in the scientific seminar.

The seminar took place in an atmosphere of lively and active discussion.
