Scientific seminar entitled “The Socio-Economic Situation of Shirak region in 1950-1970” at SUSh

Within the framework of the scientific seminar, lecturer of the Chair of “Geography and Service”, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Artashes Boyajyan, touched upon the studies of the administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Armenia in 1950-1970, as well as the development of infrastructure in the Shirak region.

In his speech, the speaker also emphasized the growth of industry and urban population in Leninakan (now Gyumri) during the aforementioned period, as well as the fact that Leninakan had become an important railway junction in the South Caucasus.

The meeting took place in an active question-and-answer atmosphere.
