Presentation of the experience of creating tourist maps at SUSh

On November 14, Levon Barseghyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Shirak State University, met with lecturers and students of the university’s Department of Geography and Service, presenting to them his own experience in creating tourist maps.
During the meeting, Levon Barseghyan presented in detail the history of the creation, editing and revision of the first guide map of Gyumri. He emphasized that the process of creating the map has come a long way and is the result of years of work.

The first version of the map was created in 2004, and the final revisions were made in 2013. Previously created city plans were used to create the map and cartographic experiments of different countries were studied. According to Levon Barseghyan, although digital maps, especially Google Maps, are widely used nowadays, there is always a need to use paper maps in various fields.
