Message of SHSU Rector Yervand Serobyan on the Occasion of Republic Day

Dear compatriots,

I congratulate all of us on the occasion of Republic Day.

On May 28, 1918, thanks to collective will and an unbreakable spirit, the centuries-old dream of the Armenian people to restore independent statehood was fulfilled. The proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia became one of the turning points in our history. Inspired by the heroic battles of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan and Karakilisa, it forever changed the course of our destiny.

Independence is an absolute value, the guarantee of a nation’s identity and security, built from generation to generation with dedication and faith. It is the cornerstone of our existence—the affirmation of our right to live and develop freely.

May this day be a symbol of our unity, national dignity and unwavering faith.
