A Lecture Dedicated to the 85th Anniversary of Zaven Koshtoyan
A lecture dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Honored Artist of Armenia, sculptor Zaven Koshtoyan, was held at the Department of Sports and Arts of the State University of Shirak.
The speaker, Candidate of Art Studies and Associate Professor Araxya Margaryan, presented Koshtoyan’s life and creative path.
According to A. Margaryan, Koshtoyan lived through creation and created through living, conveying to his beloved city a message of devotion to true art and universal human values. Remaining faithful to a humanistic vision, the Master developed the representation of Gyumri’s figures in Armenian sculpture, becoming one of the founders of the Gyumri school of sculpture.
During the event, attendees shared their memories of Zaven Koshtoyan, and at the end of the meeting, they watched a documentary film by director Garnik Sargsyan dedicated to the Master’s life and work.
